The Stingers Basketball Club operates as a community club that welcomes any community member in Singapore to join. Most importantly, its ambition is to provide young boys and girls with the opportunity to play well organized basketball throughout the year. Formed in 2004, The Stingers is home to 13 teams and over 200 players of all abilities.

The programs offered will range from coaching clinics for the young and inexperienced players aged 5 to 10 years old who would like to learn the basic skills and rules of the game in a non-competitive environment, and culminate in formalized teams for boys and girls (U11 – U18) that thrive and further polish their skills and tactical knowledge of the game at a competitive level in the Singapore Community Basketball League (CBL). All teams are guided by qualified and experienced coaches. Places in each age group will be limited to a maximum of 10 players per team. The CBL offers 3 divisions for most age groups, thus caters for virtual beginners up to elite players in Division 1.

Season 1: August – December 2017

Season 2: January - June 2018

Age Groups (Boys & Girls):

  • Development - Aged 5 - 10 - Non-Competitive

Our Development Program is targeted towards newcomers who need to develop their skills and understanding of the game. Boys and girls are engaged in activities which promote the development of fundamental movement, coordination and self-confidence, whilst basic basketball skills such as team work, throwing, catching, dribbling and shooting are worked on in every session. Whilst learning new skills is important, the main focus is that our young participants have lots of fun!

  • CBL Age Groups & Divisions:

The competitive teams play, depending on experience and ability in one of the 3 divisions of the Community Basketball League (CBL). All players will be assessed and placed within an appropriate team.

  • Division 1:
    1 x Weekly Training or Weekly Match
    PLUS 1 x day of additional weekly training - Compulsory
  • Division 2:
    1 x Weekly Training or Weekly Match - Note: Additional training - Optional
  • Division 3:
    1 x Weekly Training or Weekly Match - Note: Additional training - Optional


  • New Player Registration - $60 (one time payment for new members - includes club uniform)
  • Development Groups - Non-Competitive: Go to
